  • Nottingham!!!...=)

So, this weekend i went to Nottingham to attend the Nottingham Games. For those who don't know, it's an event where all the Malaysian Societies in the United Kingdom gather together for a day of fun and sports!

Had to get up at 4am, just to catch the train to Nott, but luckily we made it in time! haha...When we arrived at the University, all we saw were...people!! Lots and lotsa malaysians! But it was fun coz i got to see all my friends that i haven't seen for the past few months!! Although we didn't join any sports, it was nice just to simply gather round and chit chat.. There was also this Malaysian food fair that was going on, so it was very very nice to eat food from home!!

In the afternoon, a few of us went to explore the Nottingham town...it was a really nice town! I mean, i like the arrangement of all the shops and stuff..hehe..and half way through shopping, when we were talking bout farm animals or something like that, suddenly this came up:

Serena: Eh, what's the difference between lamb and sheep ah? Is it the same thing?
Me: ...yea lo, not same meh?...lamb is the meat and sheep is the one still with fur?
Serena: Oooo yea o.....EH WAIT, isn't the meat mutton?!
Me: Eh yea o...then what's lamb?...isn't the meat lamb? coz when you buy steak and stuff they write there lamb?
    Serena: Isn't lamb the lady sheep?....eh wait....then what's goat!?!
Me: Goat is the one with horn rite?...sheep is the one with fur...
    Serena: o yea yea...then what's lamb?!
    Me:..............
...and it went on and on.....

...heh, so after a long time, i was still thinking bout it, and Jeremy finally cleared it....hahaha! But it was a good laugh..hehee..=)

O! then we went to the Nottingham castle, coz Chua kept wanting to go...haha! Nottingham is the home fo Robin Hood, so the castle was......his house or something like that? i forgot....hehe...but it was cool! Coz, it looked like a fort, it was a big BIG stone with a castle sitting on top, and at the sides of the rocks, there were windows and doors...which was coool...heheee..=)

It was a nice day...i'm starting to miss everyone i met there already....but yea, this was a start for many gatherings to come!..

Take care eveyone! and happy halloween~~

Thought of the week: Take things one at a time, it'll all work out..

some pictures...gonna post some on facebook as well, but most of them are with chua...

  • *brrrr~~*

Just a quick one bout my day today..hehe..i really should be sleeping...

Anyway! I woke up this morning, and looked out the window....blue sky, sunshine! Perfect!!... great start for great day, coz classes only till half day, but there was another class way back at 5pm... So i dressed up and got ready for classes, and walked to lecture building. We were having practicals all morning, so we were in shorts and white polo shirts. Then around 11am, we were almost at the end of our classes, all of a sudden, a bell goes off....*riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing*....and our lecturer goes..(literally) and said "ooooooh noooooo!!!" and we were like.......then she said "ok kids, make your way to the fire exit, go down the stairs and gather at the parking area!"...it was a fire alarm! ok so, everyone rushed out, and on my way out, i grabbed my jacket. There were some people in my group asking whether it was a drill, and the lecturer said she doesn't know about it...so we thought it might be a real fire! As i made my way to the stairs....i went *Shooot!!! I FORGOT TO TAKE MY TROUSERS!!!!!!* There was no way of going back to take it, coz everyone was going down, so i just went down anyway, since it's such a nice day.

THEN...as we got out, IT WAS POURING RAIN OUTSIDE!!!........and i left my umbrella in the bag! So me and most of my course mates, stood in the rain, in shorts, shivering! for half an hour. And it turned out to be just a drill......

So nevermind, we finished classes on time surprisingly, and so me and Michelle went for lunch and went home to do some revision, while waiting for the 5pm class. At 4.35pm we started to walk with my flat mate who's studying medic, to Medical School, for Basic Life support class. It took us 20 minutes slow walk to reach there. AS WE REACHED THERE...someone from our course came out of the building, and told us..."hey guys, i've just been told that our class at 5pm has just been cancelled "...gargh! So we walked that far, for nothing!!!!

Anyway so yea, that was my day, wasn't that smooth, but yea...haha!

I can't wait to go Nottingham games!!!...

    Take care everyone...

  • Kiwi~~~

    The title's a lil random..haha! sorry...

It's almost been a month since i started my course here in Birmingham, and i'm liking it! Still haven't loved it yet, but i have a feeling i will very soon....

Staying away from home is fun, but it's a challenge at the same time. To organise your life, and to make sure that your quality of life is maintained, not easy!

Anyway, when people here always ask me, so where do you come from? I would say, Malaysia. Then this question always follows, so you're a malay? Then i would say, nope, i'm a Chinese, but a malaysian. Then they would get sooooooo confused, and ask, but you're not from china?! so...i found an answer that will make them not confused, just say, i'm a Malaysian born Chinese, and all is clear...haha! When i'm away, i actually learn to appreciate Malaysia more, coz back home, everyone lives peacefully together. Here, there's bound to be a certain level of discrimination, and i don't like it! But thank God for putting nice people around me..

Have you ever looked into the mirror, and for that split second, when you look into your eyes, you see nothing, like there's no life inside those eyes, and after you blink, it goes away?....

It sucks to be sick when you're away from home....

Thought of the week: Don't wait till tomorrow, whatever you can complete today. It makes a difference!

Take care everyone! Miss all of you lots....

  • The start of a new life...well not really la..

I finally made it to University of Birmingham, after that super long flight!

Arrived last Sunday at Birmingham International Airport, and when the baggage came out, one of my suitcases was broken! The lock was torn, luckily we still had a safety strap around it, or everything would have flew out....Mum even thought that somebody tried to force it open to steal stuff, but i think they just threw it too hard...sigh

But!! The City of Birmingham is beautiful! and so is the University....really nice environment to study...

Anyway, first few days here was very hectic! Had to get my registration done, get my fees paid, solve my accommodation problems, and move into the accommodation. And just when i thought that Fresher's week was sooo free and easy, i found out that there was actually a specific fresher's week timetable for my course, and this was Wednesday, so i missed 2 days of important stuff!!.....but thankfully, the lecturers were really kind and helpful, they arranged for sessions to meet up and replace those that i missed.....

Took a bus down to London on Saturday!!..hehe, although it was a very rushed trip, still manage to visit the main parts of the city and meet up with a friend. O! And managed to go to Harrod's as well...and i just knew that there was  memorial there for Princess Diana and Harrod's owner's son...heh..bought chocolate there! super nice....

Then on Sunday, went to Cadbury world here in Birmingham. I also just found out that Birmingham is the city for the first Cadbury factory!! The place was huge! And lotsa fun to visit as well...hehe..bought even MORE chocolate coz it was freshly made, and cheap...haha!

Lectures officially started on Monday, and i officially moved into my room the day before..haha! So much information to process just on the first few days! It's making my brain jam...-.-..

O!! I met someone in my course who is from Malaysia as well!!..She's from Miri, and apparently, we know each other's friends in Miri and KK, but have never met before...small world huh?...

I didnt post up pictures this time, coz it takes forever to load in xanga...so...if you wanna see pictures, go to my facebook!!...hehe

Take care everyone!! No matter where you are.....

Thought of the moment....only when you've lost something, then you will appreciate it's presence.

  • Excited!!

I'm about one month away to begin a totally new journey, to a brand new start, to a brand new place, and learning something new...i'm excited!!!...no doubt...but worried at the same time. I'm worried that the decision i made was wrong, worried that i won't be able to get used to the new environment, worried what lies ahead of me...but i'm excited to start all over! I can do whatever i want, without being judged by who i was in the past. I can change my lifestyle, to one that is an upgraded version of what's going on now..i hope..heh..can't wait! But i'm gonna miss everyone here......sigh

Anyways, i'm going to KL next week!! Can't wait....but i hope my visa letter arrives at my house on time before i leave. If not....uh oh...big problem...tsk...

Random question for everyone to answer: What is your definition of being successful in life?

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
    Dance like nobody's watching!!!...

    Take care everyone!!!...
